Working with the members of the Nari Jagaran Committees to enhance their skills as economic entrepreneurs
Rural women globally face persistent gaps in access to resources, market, knowledge and services, all underpinned by persistent inequalities in rights and patriarchal mindset. Social activism will become a burden without a linkage with economic empowerment. Hence we also work with the members of the Nari Jagaran Committees to enhance their skills as economic entrepreneurs
Our goal in this area is to-
- Improve livelihood opportunities for socially and economically backward women
- Develop skills of women to undertake new livelihood activities and improve existing ones
- Promote sustainable and environment-friendly livelihood opportunities
- Improve women’s access to assets and resources
- Strengthen development of women community/self-help group leaders, for active participation in political processes for inclusion of their livelihood activities for support and sustenance
